One Week Immersion

In partnership with The Providence Center for Urban Leadership Development, we are offering a one week immersion trip for emerging young leaders who are dedicated to Christ and committed to bringing the gospel to the world. This immersion trip will get you acquainted with the urban ministry of Providence Bible Church. We want to expose you to our urban enviornment, train you in urban ministry and unlease you to serve the needy in our city. This program concludes with a 44-hour poverty simulation where you will no longer empethize with the poor, but identify with them.

Your week will expose you to all the ministries of Providence:

Providence Bible Church
In September of 2008, Providence was launched in the most diverse neighborhood in Denver. 1/3 Black, 1/3 White, and 1/3 Hispanic, rich and poor, young and old. The gospel influence in the area had moved to the suburbs and God was calling us to burn our passports and begin God's work of seeing lives changed in this community. Providence has changed our lives as we have seen God's power in changed life. You will see the struggles of a church striving to look like heaven on earth as we proclaim the Kingdom of God.

Encompass
Encompass is a ministry of Providence Bible Church that was launched because of the specific needs in the community. About 55% of the households in Northeast Denver are single parent homes. There are many resources within Denver that provide for the needs of these women, but relationships are their greatest need. Encompass desires to surround these women in the body of Christ. We believe that long-term relational and spiritual health is directly connected to a support system, defined by committed relationships. Encompass encourages orphans, single moms and widows to become involved in the community. You will see how this ministry opens opportunity for our community of believers to begin Gospel relationships through this ministry.

A Strong Tower Ministry
A Strong Tower Ministry is a ministry of Providence Bible Church that targets men and women leaving prison who are serious about walking with Jesus Christ and by setting Christ as Lord learning to surrender their old life and not return to prison. Felons face extreme difficulty when leaving prison. They are marked men and woman because of their past crime. They can't get jobs, affordable housing, transportation, and many other needs that are important for keeping them out of prison. Strong Tower Ministry helps bring the community they had on the inside to the outside. These men are ministered to with accountability and spiritual care. We encourage consistent prayer life and quite times, desire to see God’s word become real in their life resulting in Godly Character, integrity, compassion, showing grace, mercy, and humility toward others. As these values are established in lives that truly desire to change.

You will also be exposed and educated in:

(1) Education reform in our local schools
(2) Theology of Poverty
(3) Community Development model
(4) Community groups that are actively being Jesus in their neighborhood
(5) Ministry to the homeless
