We want to EXPOSE you to the urban mission field, EDUCATE you on urban missions, and ENGAGE you in urban ministry.
Mission and Vision
Mission Denver is a ministry of Providence Bible Church that desires to assist the local church in educating, engaging, and equipping teens and adults in God's heart for the poor. In September of 2008, Providence Bible Church began with a core group of 50 adults to begin a church that was multi-ethnic, socio-economic, and multi-generational. We have see God bless our ministry these past years, but the greatest impact to our community has been our engagement with the poor. James 2:5 says, "Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?" SImply stated, God has sovereignly chosen to work in the world by beginning with the weak that are on the 'outside,' not the powerful who are on the 'inside.' Mission Denver seeks to take each team on this journey. We will engage you in urban ministry training, community development, work projects, bible clubs in low income areas, and a poverty simulation. We desire this journey to begin a work in your own heart for those who are poor within your own community, and for you to begin to experience the great blessing of God when you are obedient to His Word.
Our Core Values
Mutual Benefit: We desire to encourage and engage people in urban ministry that will benefit both Providence Bible Church and each Mission Denver Team's (MDT's) community back home.
Holistic Approach: We desire to challenge each MDT's thoughts about urban ministry by engaging them in practical head, hand and heart ministry. They will not change Denver in coming, but we desire them to take what they learn and change their church and community back home.
Life-Long Transformation: We desire all to see what God is doing in the city by getting each MDT out of their social status and change their idea of culture and need. It is our desire that through this, God would change the MDT's heart and life for ministry in the city.
Compassionate-Caring: We desire to expose everyone to God's heart for the poor and needy, by teaching each MDT how to love people wherever you go.
